Ken Halligan
BJJ BLACK BELT
Ken was first introduced to the effectiveness of grappling prior to earning his black belt in Taekwondo. Recognizing the importance of having these skills, he began training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in the late 1990s and has been dedicated to it ever since.
Ken finds great satisfaction in teaching and enjoys the problem-solving aspect of Jiu-Jitsu. He considers it most rewarding when he can help a student overcome a long-standing challenge that has been hindering their progress. He emphasizes the importance of Jiu-Jitsu for self-defence, as well as the value of understanding concepts and principles. In addition, he finds it important to demonstrate that, with the right mindset and approach, Jiu-Jitsu can be a lifelong pursuit.
